Another history will be written from the historical film in Kannada filmdom. Sangolli Rayanna again! It was less than a lakh when it was made it was released in the fag end of 1967. Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna by Chitravani in the direction of Babu Rao Athani for producer Ananth Hiregowder starring Abhi Bhattacharaya, Kaminidharan, Dada Salvi, Saroj Borker, Vihuthe, Renukamma Murugod, Ramgopal and others was in a shoe string budget.

Today the whole budget of 1967 film is a quarter day shooting expenses in this whopping Rs.10 crore plus budget for 2010 Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna. Producer Anand B Appugol is the producer and he is the admirer of Sangolli Rayanna from his young age. ‘Kotru Rayanna Thagondru Rayanna’ is his principle.

Darshan is heading the cast with counterpart charming Nikitha. Actors like Shashikumar, Srinivasamurthy, Ramesh Bhat, Dharma, Shivakumar, Hema Chaudhary and other are in the team. Raju Upendra Kumar is Yashovardhan in this film is scoring six songs. Ramesh Babu is the cameraman and Ravi Verma is handling the stunts.

Darshan in his first historical film riding his own white horse in the battle field has given umpteen numbers of days. It is above 120 days for this film it is learnt. He is very hard working already. Kept the bound volume of the script prepared by Keshaaditya rehearsing his dialogues to meet the Uttar Kannada diction and he is totally immersed.
Srinivasamurthy is there for him to give tips in this kind of film. Toogudeepa Srinivas is his father and for that Murthy he adds who is playing the important role in ‘Sangolli Rayanna’.

Director Naganna’s eight years dream is coming true as the film launches with the presence of 13 Swamijis at Kal Mata in Kittur on November 19.

For the dream of Naganna the writer Keshav Aditya has lent extremely good support. Dr B Saroja Devi had played ‘Kittur Rani Chennamma’ now Dr Jayaprada is doing the similar role.

The shooting at Hyderabad, Belgaum, Kittur, Jaipur are scheduled in 125 days. The hundreds of horses, elephants thousands of extras in the battle ground 500 fighters are pressed in to action with more than three cameras headed by Ramesh Babu.

For veteran Srinivasamurthy this is yet another easy task because he has staged in the play and around eight characters he has done on stage. According to the calculation Rs.10 crore expenditures on this film is sure to come back because of challenging star Darshan. He has that market says Srinivasamurthy.
